This year, we received a really special gift. A local family established the “Notes of Hope Fund” to honor their parents, Tom & Winnie Miller.
Before the days of radio and TV, it was common for families and friends to play music together for fun. Music as a social pastime is the foundation of folk music. The Caffe Lena School of Music maintains this tradition through our weekly Senior Learning Jam. This fun, educational offering gives retirees a chance to drop in, work on their music skills, and meet friends. Our instructors are there to guide participants in the art of social music-making.
Please join us in applauding the Miller Family for passing their parents’ love of music forward to the community. Their support enables us to make this class available to seniors regardless of ability to pay, while compensating our teachers fairly.
