A true force of nature, Carolyn Wonderland delivers blues with grit, grace, and an unshakable voice that can raise the rafters or still a room. Hailed as “The Bluesman” by Aretha Franklin and praised by Bob Dylan for her songwriting, Wonderland is a genre-shaping guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter whose life story reads like a legend—and whose live shows burn with passion and presence.
Raised in Houston, trained on her mother’s vintage Martin, Carolyn picked up guitar before dolls and grew up immersed in the Texas blues tradition, swapping songs with Townes Van Zandt and sneaking into clubs as a teenager. She’s been on the road ever since—sharing stages with Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos, Levon Helm, Buddy Guy, and Johnny Winter, and earning praise from No Depression, Austin City Limits, and Rolling Stone.
- Multi-instrumentalist (guitar, trumpet, accordion, lap steel, piano), whistler, and fierce storyteller

- Collaborator with James Williamson (The Stooges), Marcia Ball, Ruthie Foster, Sarah Brown, Cindy Cashdollar, and many more
- Touring for over 25 years across the U.S., Europe, South America, and Japan
With a discography that spans raw blues, gospel, country soul, and rebel rock, Carolyn’s songs are personal and political, joyful and searing.
